Cinema for Space Festival

CINEMA FOR SPACE is the first international film festival dedicated to space.

In November 2026, at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, the second edition will feature four days of screenings, debates, masterclasses, and unique encounters between leading figures in cinema and scientific experts.

Much more than just a film festival, CINEMA FOR SPACE is a vibrant forum – a space for dialogue between science, cinema, and society – featuring numerous discussions on current topics, such as the preservation of outer space and the rise of satellites.
With a Youth Program, an Audience Award, and an Honorary Award, the festival aims to appeal to all generations.

At the same time, a unique two-year program is being carried out in collaboration with French animation schools to inspire students and revitalize storytelling about space.

Space to Soar, Earth to Engage,
Cannes to connect
A conviction

We are film enthusiasts who believe that movies, through their emotional power, are the best way to raise awareness. We are engaged citizens who believe that scientists have expertise that deserves to be heard. We are dreamers and explorers who believe that a better understanding of space means better protection of Earth.

CINEMA FOR SPACE was born out of this threefold conviction.

A mission

Our mission is to make space accessible to everyone – without having to board a rocket! Because space is not some distant realm reserved for a few nations or a select club of billionaires. Space exploration and research lead to tangible technological advances that benefit everyone, every day.

With CINEMA FOR SPACE, we want to explain to the general public that investing in space means investing in Earth.
