CINEMA FOR SPACE Festival: When Cinema Brings Space Closer to Earth

Space is not some distant realm reserved for a handful of superpowers or visionary entrepreneurs. On the contrary, it is at the heart of our daily lives: weather forecasts, GPS, communications, Earth observation… all innovations born of space research.

To highlight this tangible and inspiring aspect, CINEMA FOR SPACE is launching this one-of-a-kind event, which will take place from November 27 to 29, 2025, at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.

CINEMA FOR SPACE chose the Paris Air Show to officially announce the creation of this unprecedented event, alongside the Fondation de l’Espace, the event’s partner.

Thomas Pesquet, president of the Fondation de l’Espace, presented the foundation’s objectives, which align with those of CINEMA FOR SPACE: to raise awareness of the value of space exploration for the common good, to promote diversity, and to offer more inspiring narratives.

This humanistic and sustainable vision is fully reflected in the spirit of the festival:
“Space to soar. Earth to engage. Cannes to dialogue.”
